TBS LLC
Repair, rehab, and retrofit — scoped to the station you have
We start by learning which components stay and which must go, then design a package that integrates new hardware with what still works.
Retrofit vs replace
When is a lift station retrofit better than full replacement?
For many Greater Houston commercial and municipal stations that are about 15 years or older, a focused retrofit restores reliability without tearing out the entire structure. Use this decision frame before you budget a ground-up rebuild.
Lean retrofit when…
- The wet well and major structure are still sound
- Pumps, rails, valves, or controls are the worn pieces
- You need shorter downtime and lower capital cost
- Capacity still matches current flows
Plan full replacement when…
- Structure, top slab, or wet well is failing
- The station is undersized for today’s demand
- Too many systems are obsolete for piecemeal repair
- Code or site layout forces a redesign
TBS LLC starts every package by deciding what stays and what goes, then writes a scope with new and retained components so ownership can review before mobilization.
How a TBS repair package starts
Gather the system, then decide what to keep
Each waste or stormwater pump station is different. We gather information on pumps, valves, controls, and wet-well condition to decide what is replaced and what is retained. From there we specify hardware that integrates with the existing station — so you get a clear scope and a detailed component list before work begins.
Applications we regularly see
Scenarios, flow ranges, and configurations
Scenarios
- Municipal storm & wastewater lift stations
- Commercial sanitary & storm stations
- Booster stations and pumping skids
- Valve, meter, and grind vault assemblies
- Top slabs, hatches, control panels, electrical assemblies
Flow ranges
- Low flow: 5–50 gpm
- Medium flow: 50–400 gpm
- High flow: 400–1,500 gpm
- Super high flow: 1,500–10,000+ gpm
Configurations
- Simplex, duplex, and triplex
- Submersible, self-priming, jockey
- Grinder, chopper, solids-handling
- Wet-dry, split-case, inline turbine
When is retrofit better than full replacement?
Retrofit is usually better when the wet well and major structure are still sound, but pumps, guide rails, valves, or controls are worn. It keeps usable civil work, shortens downtime, and costs less than a ground-up rebuild. Full replacement fits better when the structure is failing, capacity is wrong for current flows, or too many systems are obsolete for piecemeal repair.
Will I get a written scope?
Yes. A repair, rehab, or retrofit design from TBS includes the work to be done and a detailed list of new and existing components so ownership and facilities teams can review before mobilization.
